Hello,
This week I have picked up my "new-to-me" M101CDN2 trailer (pics to follow once I'm over 10 posts). It is towed behind a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD. I live in Newmarket, ON.
The trailer is for general utility use & camping. So far I have I have upgraded the (non-existing) lights to Grote LED mil-spec. I have also changed the 20 pin NATO connector to a 7 pin setup. There is also an OEM spare tire.
The plan (God, Wife & money willing) is to undertake a full restoration. I have some ideas for the details but I will 'cross the bridges' as the come.
I am curious to know what other members had to do to register their trailers. The MTO registered my trailer as a 'home built' as I had no other paperwork other than the bill-of-sale. Pls let me know what you had to do?
Thx,

35 views and no one's said hi to the new guy yet?

Well, Hey a big MUD salute:flipoff2:

I really like my M101 CDN. Can't help you with Canadian registration, but surely others here know more.

Hoping to take the trailer back home for a visit next year. It was going to be the TLH and Newfoundland this year, but I still have a diss to finish and the wife is neck deep in projects at the big U. But next year..:):steer:

Let me know if there's anything I can help with. On a resto, the first thing is whether or not you're keeping the paint or taking it off. Some of these were painted with CARC, which is nasty stuff, so read up on the topic. Nothing dangerous if you take care, but I just advised my sandblaster dude and he took care of it.

Then there is the wheel/tire combo you want. That'll determine what else needs doing -- fenders, etc

Good luck!:wrench:

Thx for the Luv!

Hey Mike,

Thx for the welcome! :grinpimp:

If I have my way I will be sandblasting the trailer at some point. I will pay attention to the CARC paint. My short list is as follows (in no particular order) :
- correct the wiring to the Grote mil-spec LED lights
- media blast the whole trailer & repair and found issues
- a lid of some sort
- a tailgate
- desert scheme paint job
- hub conversion to 5 x 4.5" so I can run the same wheels as my Liberty
- perhaps electronic brakes
- substitute a dolly wheel for the front foot
- spots for propane, water, fuel
- a compressor & hot water on demand
...this will keep me busy for a while :D

Very nice indeed. Keep us updated. Looking at the tail lights, they look new or restored.

Re "the tail lights"

Hey,
They are Grote Mil-spec LED lights that I purchased on e-Bay. They were $20 each. The voltage rating is for 12-24v so they were plug & play. I switched the 20 pin NATO connector to a standard 7-pin & the lights worked perfectly...great buy.

very cool , good luck with the build . im not too far from you , im in niagara maybe we can meet up some time.
