I did a search but didn't find an answer and this may be stoooopid but.

Ok I'm just getting started and have found a couple of rigs I dealing on and need to know.

Are all factory LC locker options the same or are there different versions?

like rear only,
center only...

And most importantly what questions can I ask if I am buying out of state.

Good luck and if you add your location to your sig line, maybe someone will have one available to purchase around where you reside.
 
The following information applies only for US spec 80-Series.

All have a locking center diff. 91-92 came with a selectable dash switch to lock the center diff; 93-97 automatically lock the center diff when the Xfer is put into low range.

Locking F&R axles were an option on 93-97 US 80-Series. You got both rear and front electrically actuated locking diffs with the option (~$800). Individual front/rear locking diffs were not available from the factory in the 80-Series.
