It will be interesting to see a scale ticket and see how much you are over weight. 2210 pounds uhaul car trailer weight, Land cruiser 80 4760 pounds =6970 pounds

Gx460 towing capacity. 6500 pounds

I'm not a lawyer, but if overweight and you get in an accident I believe the other party owns you.

I guess he decided not to show pictures of the overweight rig. Delete the evidence. Wise choice.

Yeah, but a photo/description of it online isn’t likely to be what’ll get you, it’s the trooper at the accident scene thinking it might be a contributor and requiring a weigh in as part of the accident investigation. I think that’s the point you’re warning of.

A lot of folks push past the limit on weight, as a CDL holder I assure you it’s way more than most realize…or they’d be incredibly more paranoid on the road.

Like many situations in life, there’s a right way to do something the wrong way…so be smart, leave room and know the issues that arise with running a bit heavy. The same accident can happen running 6,499 lbs as 7,000. It’s not that drastic, outside of legal concerns. Without seeing the post I’ll have to assume; the new 80 series still needs to make it home and the GX is the only rig he has to pull it…I’d do the same.

I agree. It's a personal choice to take the risk. If he is going 35 mph to the next town he is probably perfectly safe. 75 on the freeway not so much.

It was not my intent to criticize, I just want to make him aware.
