Wanted Non-vacuum Split Transfer Case Linkage

what transmission is it going behind? they have two different styles of external linkage. one for the early "short" h42 and one for the later, longer version......

i have some extras for the early stuff but no spare 2-4 shift rail. the fork on the rail is the same for mech. and vacuum operated cases.

This is a random shot, maybe an FJ40 shifter will work for you?

As it turns out the shifter I have will not work in my FJ60. The one I have appears to be from an FJ40. This is what I have:





Here's the Toyota schematic for that component----what's different from what I can tell (betw FJ40 and FJ60) is the angles of the LEVER, p/n36305 in schematic. The "vertical" arm of lever is straight up while the arm reaching down to 2/4WD selector on Txfr Case is to shallow and angle to axis of rotation.

Maybe this would work for ya? I'll post the pics of the FJ60 one I'm looking for. If that helps you decipher which one you need, great....

Here is what I'm looking for - or maybe what you in fact need. This is from an FJ60. Note all of my pics are non-vac and some of the pics below actually are midstep in installing so the orientation of mounting plate is off.







Georg could probably speak to this better than I have here.
The net result in having the FJ40 shifter configuration, is that the more shallow angle on the bottom member of the Lever causes the square bushing (363210) to be about an inch away from Txfr Case 2/4WD select shaft.

Anyway, even if you can't use this----maybe the pics here I've posted will help others... help you find the correct linkage. Hell, the 55 maybe completely different from anything I've posted here!

that's the early fj60/split case shifter before they went tothe longer extension housing.

Does this affect the parts list that I'm looking for? Sounds like I still need late model 60 series parts, right? Or are there 40 series-specific parts that I need?

1tontoy: and I have still the early version of the shifter lever for what would make up the whole shifting combination. If that might help, great. It sounds like you are still clarifying what is exactly needed though? I would PM Georg and ask him. Heck, he probably has the pieces you need right in his shop....
