No more manual transmission for the V8 in Oz?

I was checking out the Aussie toyota page which i do everyone now and then and noticed that there is no longer a 5-speed manual offered for the 4.7L V8 petrol engine:

I can't recall reading about his....maybe they thought no-one would notice? Anyone else hear about this ?

i hate posting replies to my own posts, but here goes:

I phoned Toyota (Australia) Customer Support earlier....and they sort of confirmed that the 4.7L V8 petrol is not available with the 5-speed manual transmission anymore....but they couldn't find any specific reference to this decision.

So i emailed 4WD TV http://www.4wdtv.com.au/ and they said that there's an unconfirmed rumour that you can order (in Australia at least) whatever you want...you just have to wait for it to come from Japan...

I'd love to have the 5spd with my V8 but it was not an option here in the US.

Rumour would be correct I expect, nothing on the web, and I would love a turbo diesel 100 with the RFS and front and rear locker standard, factory TRAC and selectable VSC with NAV an dual aircon! It is not offered anywhere else in the world to my knowledge and I doubt they will offer it now, especially since there is a new model coming out in 2007/2008. Then again, maybe that is the reason, sell off all the old bits and pieces now in any configuration to get rid of everything before the new one comes out.(but I doubt it)
