My FJ 40 won't start but engages when shorted at the solenoid. However, won't engage the flywheel. Battery tests at over 13 volts. No power to any of the ignition switch contacts. No horn , lights nothing!!! The fusible link is ok. I have already replaced the starter and solenoid. I want to test electric lines, but all the schematics I find have the wrong colors for the wiring. My 1978 is all original but the schematics just don't match up. Are there any good ones out there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I always thought I might get stuck in the mud, but not in my garage!

This the 70 series forum, you need the 40 series forum. Did you test the fusible link or just visually inspect it?

I put on a new ign switch even though I really didn't think that was the problem. Didn't help! Where are the bulkhead wiring connecters and what do the look like. It seems that a wiring bundle just flows through the firewall and there is no bulkhead connecter on an FJ 40. Totally confusing to me. I have no electric anywhere even though the battery is 13+ volts and ground is ok. NO dash lights, starter, headlights, radio, horn etc.....
