$500 87 60 in SLC I found a 60 in SLC, owner is asking $900 but will take $500. I went and checked it out today:
The good:
-engine seems great, 2F, 175,000
-New clutch a year or two ago
-Transmission seemed fine
-Rust in usual spots, but not very bad. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being no rust, 10 being held together by any paint that's left, I'd say it's a 3 or 4 at worst. None in the front quarter panels.
-Seats and most of the interior is in good shape
-Paint is fair to good
The bad
-Leaks from center differential
-Cat gaskets need replaced
-The steel plate under both is welded on. Will have to be cut off / broken off to make the repairs.
-Steering is wacky. Sluggish when turning left, responsive when turning right, some feedback from the power steering pump when turning.
-Half the headliner has been cut out (rear)
-Idle is set around 1200 to 1400 RPM's, not sure what issue it's hiding there.
-Springs, shocks need replaced
-Tires are bald
-Windshield wiper arm is bent
-Horn doesn't work
-Rust on rear fenders, a couple small trail dents, lower lift gate is rusted out along bottom edge, a few quarter to half dollar size spots scattered around
-PS birf is very greasy on the ball, the DS side looks good. I didn't hear any clicking
-Hubs were very hot when I got back from my fairly short - 5 mile - test drive. Maybe engaged? I was fairly disengaged by that point, so I didn't check.
I'm not up for a project right now, but I thought somebody here might be. Here is the link. The birfs and the welded skid plate and the headliner and the uncertain reason behind the idle turned me off. I'm a moderate mechanic and don't have time in 2011 for all this.
