NMO antenna mounts for front bumper (bar)

I am going to mount my ham antenna on my TJM from bumper as it has a handy location for this. I initially thought I could just mount the NMO thingy directly to the 1//2" mounting hole on the bumper but in looking at it, I don't think this will work with the NMO connector I have as the TJM mount it too think for the center connection part of the antenna connector to contact the spring loaded pin in the antenna when screwed on plus I think I want something to allow the antenna to be knocked back by a tree branch or something.

What do people use in this situation? My antenna cable/NMO kit is a Diamond C213SNMO?
