Two Toyota´s in the highlands. Just 4 psi in tires there.

And old 60 stuck in the snow/water

Those huge tires make them look like RC cars!

so, with the big tires and low pressure, can you pretty much float on any snow, even fresh stuff?

mmmmm! and ambulance doors!

i guess the snow is always whiter...

That's really cool. Reminds me of the Top Gear Polar Challenge Hilux.

Many of these "extreme snow cruisers", so to speak, all seem to have matching oversized fender flares (that also match the OEM paint job). Are they OEM or JDM by chance?

Neither... most are made by a company in Iceland called arctic trucks but there are others

and for those who are not familiar with these trucks, there is much more to it than just put on big tires and flares. Some fancy axle relocation work etc too in some cases.

Is this true for the 80s as well? I would have suspected with such big wheel wells, might not need to relocate the axles forward or back. oh well.

beautiful rigs, really amazing the conditions these beasts get driven in. you said they were at 4psi?????

Did Arctic Trucks do the Top Gear Hilux? The name sounds familiar, and I know they had to relocate the front axle.

Anyone that hasn't seen it, watch the Top Gear Polar Challenge. Even if you're not a Top Gear fan, it's worth a watch just to see the incredible challenges they face to become the first people to drive to the North Pole. You can find it on YouTube.

Yes these trucks were modded by Arctic Trucks in Iceland. They also built these trucks for a south pole expedition.

Yes the rear axles are relocated when modding 80 cruisers for 44" tires or bigger, sometimes even for 38" tires as well. Click here to see the making of a 46" 80.

There is just something so sweet about those trucks. Truly amazing rigs.
