Today since William was home on leave we went down to the Local Animal Shelter. Its been over a year since we said goodbye to Zip ( and I wasnt sure if I was really ready ) anyway I was walking on the other side of the shelter and I see William with that This is the one look :bounce:. I walked over and Wendy already has tears in her eyes. I took one look and fell in Love. Say Hello to Mia

She is part Huskey and Malamute they figured she is just over a year old. There was a previous owner but they had no information. She had been in the Shelter for just under a month. Her fur was matted, dirty, very smelly. 3 hours of brushing and cleaning 4 bags of fur later she was looking better and better

She's a looker and obviously happy to have a new home.:D Rescue pets are the best. Congrats.

She looks like she loves the attention, lucky pooch!

Beautiful Rob!
Glad you got another dog!!
Really missing our boy, something terrible.

Dude, that is awesome. I'm trying to talk the wife into a rescue dog when we can get one, but she's dead set on a new puppy

They have rescue puppies too Dan. My little mutt was only a few months old when we got him.

Yup, but I've found that getting pets a little older has it's advantages. They're more self sufficient and it's easier to gauge their personality and temperament. The little ones are cute, but they can be a PITA.

Things are working out great, we went for our first Cruiser ride and she did real well. I am learning a few things about her. Does Not like white cars or trucks I think they remend her of the Shelter trucks and screen doors LOL wont go in or out of the front door w/screen might remeind her of the cage doors I think other than wanting me to play chase me up the street :grinpimp: and catch me LOL shes doing Great.

Wait until your little one is starting to walk really good before you introduce a new dog into your home. I'd go with a puppy once she's getting around good. An adult dog might not adjust well to a little one. A puppy growing up with your child would be better, IMO. She still might get gnawed on by a pup, though...

I agree 100%. It's a battle I'm constantly fighting with the wife
