Hey everyone...new to the forum, just found it a few days ago and have really been enjoying it. Shown below is a picture of my 66 FJ45. It may appear that it is in the process of some restoration work but dont be fooled...the tires were just hijacked to my FJ40 until I can get another set of BFG's for this rig. The engine runs pretty strong but as you can see it needs some TLC which it will receive in time, once I figure out what I am doing!!
My first question is the shift lever. It has always been broken and I cant figure out how to fix it. I have tried all sorts of pins, types of metal, etc., but they just shear off. It has been this way since I have owned it and you can see where it has been shifted with a pair of vice grips in the past. Maybe the only way to go about it is to replace the whole thing including the rod to the gear box. Havent had any luck with the local Toyota "experts" either. But hey, now I found this place!! Any help much appreciated.
