Hello, I just rejoined the wheelin' ranks after about a 10 year hiatus. I am also a reformed Jeep user.... I just purchased this 1969 FJ 40 and I've been looking for the right place on the web for FJ support. This looks to be the place. This FJ came out of the Oregon area and it looks like it has been built to it's present state for about 10 years. It is a little more radical than my previous (jeep) rides, but I'm really looking forward to putting it on the trail. Here are the details:

SM420 4Spd with 7.0 first gear
Toyo pickup transfer case with 4.7 gears
Toyo '85 front axle with 30 spline Bobby Longfields, armor, 4.10 gears, disc brakes, high steer, wheel spacers
Toyo '87 rear axle, 4.10 gears, RS9000 shocks, track bar
Spring over with wheelbase stretched
8274 Warn Winch with bumper
Rock sliders
Flat belly
Cage and Rock lights
38" x 12.5" TSL swampers

This thing appears like it will go about anywhere I point it.

Thanks for looking everyone and if anyone has seen this rig before, please let me know.

Take care,
Kevin

Sorry, I posted the picture here https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=189532 because I couldn't get it to load on both forums. Yes, it is running the stock engine that has been rebuilt. Seems to run great. I drove it about 30 miles over to a buddies this weekend. Anyhting over about 35 miles an hour gets pretty interesting with those tires....

Thanks, Kevin

did you buy that on ebay? i know i saw it for sale somewhere......

anyways, looks like it outta be plenty capable for ya. those tires do flat-spot really bad, especially if they've been sitting for a while. normally they will smooth out once they come up to temp. that can take 15 minutes or more though.....

welocme to mud! :flipoff2:

yes, it was on and off ebay for a few months. I made the guy an offer back in early September, but we finally came together a few weeks ago. It is tough buying something like this online, but the guy was really straight on it and it is exactly what I expected. Doesn't happen that way enough though! I was going to build another jeep, but I couldn't pass up the chance to learn something new.

Take care,
Kevin
