Newbie question

I am in the market for a land cruiser or LX470

I have looked at a few and I am sold.

My big question is

I had looked at a 19974 land cruiser and I loved it. Very clean for having 290k the only thing is the leg room was not there. I have more in my 1998 4runenr ?

Dose a 1999 lx470 have more leg room ? the reason I ask is I have found one but I would have to drive 300 miles to look at and buy.

Thanks for the help Mike

and yes the power seats worked

I'm 6'2 and 290 LBS

I don't know if this helps, but I'm 6' and drive with the seat all the way back and I'm plenty comfortable. I do like to sit farther away from the dash than some people though. The 4runner I had, the seating was more setup like a car versus the LX, maybe gives the impression there is more room. I drove with that seat all the way back as well and still comfortable.

I'm not 6' or anything, but I can say that also coming from a 4Runner the increase in space for myself and passengers (front and rear) has already been very nice. I'm not sure I could ever go back, the LC/LX blows 4Runners out of the water IMO, no comparison in any way.

It's a personal choice but there is not really a ton of width in the front leg area, nothing like a full size pick up or similar but it's not bad at all. I just got back from doing 2500 miles in a week of wonderful travel in the LC and was sorry to come home (not sick of sitting in there). When I jumped into my 2001 reg cab Tacoma on Monday for work it did feel pretty small, ok it felt tiny. It's all relative. The LC is like business class on an airliner, it blows away coach but not quite 1st class.
You're going to have to drive one to decide. The multi way adjustable seats are great on long trips, the tilt and lumbar let you change positions often to avoid fatigue and sore spots.

There is a little more legroom in the 100 than the 80 and also what feels like more thigh support. But both 80 and 100 can be modded for increased legroom... At the expense of 2nd row legroom.

I'm 6'5" and have no complaints about legroom in my 98 LC since I yanked the dead pedal out. It's still not great for real long road trips, but I've driven much worse.

The plastic pad on the floorboard all the way to the driver side.

I'm 6' and my 1998 LC is the only car I can drive for eight hours and walk away from without limping. When I adjust the seat I still have some room left to go back.

IMHO the dead pedal is one of the things that improves the long range comfort of the truck.

For me it just took up too much room. It's the biggest dead pedal of any vehicle I've ever had. First thing I did to my 100 was pull it out. But again, I'm 6'5" -- if I were a few inches shorter or had smaller feet it might have been fine.

Until the LC, except for six months of wedging myself into a Tacoma I wound up selling because it was too small, I always drove German cars because of the legroom.
