Have always wanted one, now I got it.

1997 LC Collectors Edition, no lockers, 125K, clean as a pin. I have dropped a K&N Filter and nothing else. (yet).

How many were made and are they more desirable than a 40th Ann?

Did not get lockers as I got an awesome deal on the one I bought. Paid $8900 for it. Will get pics up soon.

I am sure that the entire board would jump on any reasonably priced ARB bumper...But seriously, how much on a used one and how do I get the best deal?

Of course, I could go the wuss route and get a brush guard...This will not be a heavy off roader, more of a mud/snow beast...And yes, I know they do extra damage if hit.

I am also looking for advice for most "beater" for the buck in a 40/60/80 series...I need 2 of these things and am gonna get it.

I look forward to being here, thanks in advance.

First, welcome to mud, you found the best Land Cruiser site in the entire universe!

My advice would be to wait to do mods and research on here a good bit.

Dont get a brush guard. Save your $ and get a slee, ARb, or TJM.

You dont need to waste your $ a programer or chip. Its a Land Cruiser not a sports car. Get used to going slower. (Yes I know its an 80, but come on you didint think it was going to be fast did you?)

Search Search search. You will find tons of info!!

Post pics!

Sounds like you got a great LC.

I would recommend throwing the K&N out. I know that sounds bad but on my 100 series I believe the K&N caused the Throttle body issues.

There is a beater fj62 on Craigslist.org for 1800 bucks.

I would have to agree about the KN air filter, they cause more problems than they are worth.

Just my .02 cents

Looked at the 62 on craiglsts last evening, IMHO i wouldn't pay more than $500 for it and that is pushing it. Rust in almost every area you could think of, no radio, speakers, and trans and transfer have been worked on already....

Welcome. If you want to see what she can do, check out the upstate cruiser link and tag along on the expedition trip coming in the next couple of months.

That's an open invite to all who want to attend.
