Hello,
I've just purchased my first Land Cruiser, a White 2004 model that is totally stock. I'm very happy to finally join this illustrious club. I've always had my eye on the 80 series, I think it is beautiful and I love the sliding rear windows, but when the time came to actually buy something, highway performance, power and luxury trumped pure off-road capability. The Land Cruiser is probably overkill for my uses, as I don't plan on conquering anything more difficult than some rutted out logging roads, but I'm coming from a BMW M3 and my standard for my vehicles is that they should be really good at something. :)

The first thing I'm going to do is replace the hood and lift-gate struts!
The DVD Changer doesn't like to eject unless it is encouraged by prying (I've retrofitted a duct-tape pull-tab to assist it).
One headlight has a nice rock-hole in it I'm planning on fixing today.

The first real thing I'd like to do is replace the tires (it has an ancient non-matching spare and the rest are 5-year old highway traction type). I'm a bit shocked at the dearth of OEM-sized tires, particularly for the 18" wheels. It seems like the only option is the Geolandar AT-S. It would probably suit me fine, but I see many other tires on 18's in this forum. I'll be looking through the FAQ and searching a lot about that. (Are 16" steel wheels really that an exotic of a thing??)

I found a great thread on low-profile roof racks, which will probably be my 2nd item after the tires.

I tend to want to keep my vehicles as stock as possible, so I'm not keen to get off-roading bumpers. Has anyone ever retrofitted 3" square LED lights (maybe a pair of them) into the OEM fog light openings?

Are there seriously no aftermarket Ditch-Light Brackets for the 100 series?

And yes I will be continuing to search the forum on those questions, but certainly if anyone who reads this has a thought, I'm happy to hear it.

-Brian
