Greetings to you all.
I drive a 1997 3.0 TD LWB Landcruiser Colorado (prado).

Sorry I can't send in pics just yet as I am abroad working (I work on the QM2 if you have heard of it).

She is called Black Beauty & to date has never let me down (touch wood).
Mods:
2" OME suspension lift
Safari Snorkel
Power Flow Exhaust
K&N Replacement filter
Custom Rock Sliders
Superpro Poly bushes all round (limited availability of choice for the Prado at the moment)
Custom Bumper Spotlight frame bolted to the bumper (4x Spots)
265/75R16 Cooper S/T Tyres with alloys (spare chrome steel wheels & extremely aggressive offroad tyres)
CB radio
Power boost module which will take it to 150BHP when I have it installed.

Plenty to do but waiting for the cash to do it.
Some very interesting topics to read on the site, I can't say that I am as technically minded as the rest of you unfortunately.

Regards
Gavin

Nice,

I have to say I'm very jealous of the mud since we are n the grips of a drought in Oz

Something poetic about seeing the mix of mud, SUVs, dirt, and little white delicate flowers in the foreground...aawwwhhhh

A couple of pics. Wtare shot is taken at a Landrover site near where I live. Its fun for a couple of hours & very wet. Unfortunately my towbar gets hung up when coming down or going up steep slopes.

The 2nd is at the beach in Northern Ireland, I took off the running boards to make measurement for the new sliders easier.

Hello from Cork

Hello Gavin,
I'm also a new user and have just bought my first 4x4 a SWB 1997 3.0TD Colorado. I'm in Cork so I'm looking for some nice routes to take my own Black Beast out on.

Your own beasty looks very cool. Is it commercial or is that security glass?

Dave

Hi Dave,

Glad to see that there is somebody else from Ireland interested in this. What have you done with you Cruiser mod wise? I fyou ned addresses I can give you some from the UK where I import all my parts from.
The windows are just tinted, she's an 8 seater although I have removed the back row to give the dogs more space.

I usually go to an offroad site in Nobber, Meath (just nort of Navan) but i really don't know where else to go as most land is private. I have heard of events in Cork, Kerry & wicklow but have no clue to the exact whereabouts.

For scheduled events which are not damaging or very little at least i head to the UK. There are fantastic sites which you can put your 4x4 to the test at. Just the expense of getting over. If we could generate more interest in Eire I am sure we could arrange some events particularly as most 4x4's are Cruisers anyway.

let me know how you get on, the swb will be much better for approach & departure angles compared to mine. Do you have a locking rear diff?

Welcome to my Irish friends.:flipoff2: My parents are both from Ireland, and all of my relatives still live over there mostly in Dublin and Galway. I visited a couple of years ago and had a blast.

I lift my pint to the motherland.
