New Trollhole carb won't hold idle-HELP

II bought this rig, 82 FJ60, off a buddy and he had just installed a Trollhole carb.

It’ll start up and it runs fine above about 1,200 RPM but if you get off the gas pedal and try to let it idle it will stall out every time. I have messed a bit with the adjustment screw on the back of the carb and also the adjustment screw on the passenger side of the carb.

The level in the bowl is right in the center of the sight glass. Complete desmog, only thing on it is vac advance for the dizzy and EGR. It’s been a long time since Ii messed with a carb and this is driving me nuts.

It has new:
Cap & rotor, plugs
Fuel filter
Trollhole carb

I am running 2 of his carbs. I had problems with one of them on one of my cruisers and transfered it over to the other and it worked fine and the other one worked fine on the other truck if you can understand that. I have the stuff to work on them here but am along way from you.

What happens if you choke it out some ?

Reason i ask about the choking it out some would tell if it has a vacuum leak which is what it sounds like.

But wait, how about the idle solinoid ?

Is it hooked up to power ?

Also if it is hooked up to power is it clicking ?

Got it to idle. Turns up the power lead to the idle solenoid was hooke up to the wrong side of the connector. Sometimes it is the easy crap that we just over look.

Sometimes you just need a fresh set of eyes / brain to look / think things over. And yes usually it is the simple stuff.
