So I brought in my 24 LX for the camera recall and told them I am not going to take it back unless it shifts into first without delay at inclined driveways, any type of rolling yield, or pedestrian crossing etc. etc.
They did some information gathering misc and worked with the toyota engineers. I think the tech really did his best to find a solution.
They said it needs a new transmission and I will be waiting for around a month or so to get it back.
My question is, should I just go get it and tune it properly? Dont worry about warranty going forward, because frankly I dont care about warranty.
Does everyone else have the weird 2-1 shift at speeds of 3-6mph that cause a delay and abrupt bump? Does your converter lock in rolling traffic and bump bump bump like someone that doesnt know how to use a clutch (hard to explain)? All this stuff is EPA lab tricks to get the mpg up (kinda like dropping the oil pressure and occasional spastic idle).
What do yall think?
