Hi gang,
I just had a Tru Cool LPD self regulating cooler installed. Paid $200 installed, incl tax. Its rated to GVW of 14,500 lbs.
The problem was where to place. The a/c, etc left little room around the rad. So we put it up under the bumper. In a worst case scenario, it could be knocked out by an accident or rock. But in an emergeny, I can reconnect the factory fittings, bypassing the cooler.
It does heat up, all right. And just driving around Tsawwassen, I can see the temp gauge is a bit lower. Hopefully, under load, there is a noticably reduced temperature. Before the cooler, on long steep hills my coolant temp gauge was rising to the very top of the "normal" operating range (near, but not in the red).
One more item checked off the growing list of things to do.
