I got a slightly used Marlin toybox tonight from colocruiserjeff. He rolled his fj80 a couple Weeks ago about a month after putting it in. Now I have everything I need to do my h42 + toybox conversion.

But why wouldn't he just make a buggy outta what he had left?!

The auto tranny is coming out and the full time case is coming out too. I haven't thought about a price but I'll start thinking about it.

It took me a while, but I was finally able to find someone to take mine. I didn't have to pay them, although I probably would have at that point.

I'll take it if no one buys it...

Its together. I need to build extensions for the transfer case shifters so that's probably what I'll be doing tomorrow.

I see how you got by without replacing the output shaft. Same method as the H55F.

Alright Matt I need some wiring knowledge. I am going to be looking through my FSM tonight to try and figure out the wiring but hopefully you have it writen on a scratch piece of paper somewhere.

The transmission/tcase/toybox are all in and the rear driveshaft is in, about 1" shorter than stock from the looks of everything on jack stands. The crossmember mount on the toybox lines up perfectly with the stock crossmember so I ordered a mount from marlin to make my brace with. Currently everything is held in place with tie down straps.

There are some notes in my thread, there is not much to the worrying. That's awesome on the xmember, I thought it would line up. Do you think the stock driveshaft will work? I think fzj driveshafts are a little shorter iirc..

The reverse lights are what I am really worried about, the fsm was a bit sketchy on the reverse lights for my taste, but it may make sense once I look at the plug.

The whole drive train is actually about 1" shorter so the rear ds needs a tiny bit of length for off road use but should work fine around town.

This post has the details, should be fairly obvious from this one. I pulled the plug end off of the original transmission harness, pulled the pins out of the engine side of the h42 reverse harness, and popped them into the original plug.

Someone, inchworm I think, makes a 1" driveshaft spacer. If you don't have to deal with the custom crossmember and the custom driveshafts the toybox just paid for itself as an adapter alone. The gearing is just icing.
