This is my first Toyota and despite all the negative comments that i read about it i freaking love it. Its has so far exceeded my expectations. I love everything about it and cant wait to customize it to my taste. I don't even think i would consider buying anything other than a Toyota again. I had a real ruff time trying to convince my wife that its a good choice. But she really does love me and sparred me from the stoic Highlander.(not that there's anything wrong with that "car" but ...) My only regret is not holding out another few days for one with the subwoofer in it. But i'm still getting used to the fact that i don't have to veer out of the way from the pot holes that i had to doge in my old 03 SVT focus. I got sick of all the bent rims. I am curious as to how much would be a fair price to have a sub put in?

landcruiser? had a 05, nice truck, loved it, the woman that drove it, not so much so they both had to go
congrats

07 FJCruiser I'm suspecting...welcome to the addiction ;)

IMO, having switched the subwoofer on and off on the FJC, I wouldn't add it....however, I'm not a "booming bass" fan, so to each their own....

I am dying to take it off road but for lack of better words my wife is being a Beach about it. For any People from my neck of the woods is it true that Paragon in Pa has be sold?

Paragon is no longer available, but the FJC Trail Team is attending a couple events at Rausch Creek in late May and into June.... http://www.fjtrailteams.com

cya there ;)

there definitly is... depending on what part of this wreched state you happen to live on. PM me with details. oh and welcome! :flipoff2:

As far as the sub woofer goes, I have one but its not significant to worry about. I turn it on and turn it off as Woody says but not a real big difference but I don't crank it to the max. I have seen many on EBAY so look there if you have to have one. You might look at a better box if your into it. Just my opinion and I know like us, you will LOVE the FJ !!! Put a TRD induction system on and listen to the engine instead :)

Put the sub in yourself. The only difference between UP1 and UP2 is the subwoofer itself. Unless I have been misinformed, the wiring is already there. There are a couple of companies that already make sub enclosures that fit nicely on that "shelf" where the factory sub goes.

I was in a position of getting UP1 with the color/options I wanted on the day I wanted to buy or waiting 1-2 weeks for the color/options I wanted with UP2.

I compared the two packages sound on two FJs parked right next to one another with the same bass-heavy song on a CD I had brought with me for that purpose. The sub does add noticeable LFE to the music but it was modest and not very impressive. For music that is not that bass-heavy, I doubt you'd notice much difference at all.

Truth be told, neither system holds a candle to the Rockford-Fosgate system that Nissan sticks in their trucks as an upgrade. That's the only thing, however, that I liked more about my Titan more than my FJ.

watch out for the FJC guys there a little off:D

Yea, were deffinetlly a different breed . Paragon is still open for at least another month and a half from what i heard. Welcome to the forum.

I heard Paragon had a reprieve, not confirmed??

Welcome to the FJC ranks!

Dave

4x n00bz (plz go ez on us!)

Hey, mudh8rs! My wife and I are getting our first 4x in 2 weeks (2007 TFJ Ti AT4x4). I've been a speed freak for a long time and have shied away from off-roading (a shame, I know, since we live in CO). Now I'm ready to take the plunge and learn all I can about gettin' dirty. I've been reading the forums on IH8MUD for a while now and y'all seem like a good group of folks. We look forward to all your help in the future!

Welcome ans congrats ! You can still go fast in the FJ ;)

We'll see...though, I didn't buy my FJ to go mach 10 (I've been 127mph in my VW Jetta...the max the governor will allow). I'm looking forward to chewing up some mud!

BTW: thanks for well-wishes!
