Hello people of IH8MUD! Long time lurker first time poster - just recently purchased an 01' 100 series after 4 years of being stuck on road. Got my first Toyota p/u in 1994, then into an 04 Tacoma 4x4, and then an 07 Double Cab. Sold the Double Cab to save gas while commuting 50+ miles a day and now that I'm dedicated to the Coaster (the train for those outside of San Diego), MPG is concern of yesterday. I suppose you don't even consider MPGs in an LC anyway... Bought the Cruiser with 140K miles - super clean carfax and from the looks of the undercarriage it's seen virtually no dirt. Timing belt and water pump done at 90K and religious attention to fluids and all regular maintenance needs. I'm confident that with my level of TLC she'll be keeping me happy for years to come.

The first mod to the beast was to remove the running boards - it looks much better now. Next on the agenda list, the sale of a kidney to fund the rest of the build. Looking forward to sharing progress & adventures and utilizing the plethora of information on the site.

Looks Great!!! Welcome to the club!

Make sure and check out the FAQ in the stickies, so much great info there!!!

I just changed my Coolant T's near the firewall two days ago and because of this website, I saved myself or my wife from being stranded on the side of the road because of coolant loss or worse yet, an overheated engine. Make sure and do this work to your rig soon, as mine had 134,000 miles on the originals and they were corroded to the point of failure at any time!

This is one of the best forums I have ever been a member of and I am sure you will enjoy it as well when you come upon a question for your rig or wondering about a mod....

Thanks for the heads up! I'be been all over the Stickies and have already downloaded the service manual. I'm going over the truck with a fine tooth comb to ensure I address anything that would be a problem out on the trail.
