Hey, I just recently bought a first gen taco DLX with the 3.4 and a manual trans, id been a jeep guy but finally came to my senses with the help of a few family members who own toyotas. So far ive done new front brakes, struts, and my starter went before the long weekend, but I still love it. Im taking it to the shop tomorrow to have my fuel filler neck repaired, it started leaking fuel whenever Im filling it, so my assumption is the filler neck. Id really like to hear from any other 1st gen owners and their trials with these trucks.

I bought the truck for $4900 CAD its rust free underneath but has some bubbling starting along the bed sides and one hole in the fender, aside from that its in great shape. In Ontario these trucks are very rare because of the heavy salting they do to the roads for half the year. My Taco has 440000KM and is running strong.

Welcome to Mud. Mine is 1st gen but quite a bit newer as it's a 03. It is a regular cab, short bed, 3RZ, 4X4 manual trans. It's the little truck that could. It has done an amazing amount of real work. Owned since new with no issues other than a check engine light. I think it's the carbon can emissions component I just haven't pulled it to check it out.

I plan on being buried in mine.

Eric
