Sold - 1994 FZJ80 Locked, Lifted, ARB Bar Warn M12K - New Price!

SOLD!

Hi Guys,

New to the mud forum but not the 80. I have owned my 94 FZJ80 for approx. 8 yrs and have been tooling around with it from day one. I have always checked out posts on the ih8mud forum for ideas, suggestions and the like.

Rig is currently outfitted with ARB front bar with M12000 and IPF 900MSR lights, borla exhaust, k&n filter, and probably some other stuff. I have changed the suspension up a coulple times, I am currently running Slee 6" FR springs and OME 864 w/ 10mm packer in the RR with standard eye to eye mount shock with about 14" of travel, needless to say rear spring trys to make an exit every now and again. I have extended track bars fr and rr, with no upgrades to the control arms. Truck has factory locker front and rear, front inoperable at the moment, rear was repaired and currently works fine. Outfitted with 35x12.5x15 Trxus MT on black steels.

I have unfortunatley joined at the moment to offer up my rig to anyone that may be interested, for the right price...of course. I hate to see it go but I have just built a new house and cant afford to play any more. I hopefully will have one again some day.

NEW LOWER PRICE $8,000

If anyone is interested PM me or send email to bakecurtis@gmail.com.

I hate to admit it but I have come to the conclusion that the asking price maybe a little high as well, hence the reason for taking offers.

Its just hard to swallow the fact that I purchased in '99 for 20k and have put this much into it and it is worth absolutely squat. I guess I should of been more conscious of the body damage...Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. :D

I will see what I can do for some interior pics in the next couple days.

Front Locker

Any ideas about why the front locker is not engaging? Interested.

The main reason is corrosion and poor maintenance. The rear actuator when repaired did not have a sufficient breather line and I believe this to be the guilty culprit. These electric lockers are merely a small electric motor that turns a worm gear and rotates a larger gear and spring to move the pin that engages the locker. When ever the insides of these actuators are exposed to dirt, mud, sand, etc they start to corrode heavily. The rear was simply repaired by removing the entire actuator and giving it a thorough cleaning and greasing, especially of the wound spring. Once the locker is corroded the motor either will stop working or in the case of my rear locker the spring will become so corroded it will not function. All in all I had very little time in repairing the rear locker it did need a few new o-rings, oil seal and bearing for the motor shaft. I found soaking the spring in some penetrating lube and later some grease helped it out a lot. There are also some electrical contacts on the face of the large gear ( to show locker engaged dash light as well as allowing the front locker to engage) I made sure to coat those good with some dielectric grease to ensure connectivity.

Yes, the truck is in good running condition, there are a few quirks here and there, please read previous posts in this thread for all known issues.
