The specifics:

98 TLC with 4 Yokohama Geolandar A/T from previous owner

12k on them and stock size

They ride nicely for the most part except one issue.

When I am accelerating and at slow speeds (say <20 mph and rpm around 2k) I get a noise from the rear. The best I can describe it is a "wind up" noise. As soon as I hit 25+ mph it goes away.

The same happens when I am braking and in that ballpark mph it's kind of a wind down noise.

I have had aggressive tires before (I know these are not) on other rigs and I know how they sound and the road noise I get when I drive. I use the truck mostly for driving around my kids and weekend trips as well as some trips up to Cape Cod.

Is this normal for this rig?

Thanks in advance. Happy holidays.

I have a 2000 cruiser with the same tires that you have and mine does the same thing actually they're a little noisy up until about 45 miles per hour I have 1000 miles on them I wouldn't be concerned with the noise

I didn't notice it with the Michelins that I had on before the yokohama. Small price to pay for what looks like better snow traction. I haven't had a chance to test them in the snow yet but I am looking forward to it
