So removed the boards and installed LC rocker covers, not seen many pictures here of this setup. I dont know, I think it looks alot cleaner.

Looks good. Might think of getting rid of the mud flaps next. I think it gives a stocker a little more higher profile.

Maybe it's just my monitor, but I thought your mod looked so good I lightened the first pic up a bit to make those new rocker covers show up a bit better:

Some (like me) have just trimmed off the running board portion and reinstalled the same piece as rocker covers.
That thread linked in my signature.

Nice to see the pics of the full conversion.

Amazing how much better it looks without all that low hanging plastic everywhere.
Is this pretty straight forward? Do you have a parts list? fully reversible?
Also any other angles you haven’t posted on MUD so we can see a bit clearer? If you sold the rig, old photos would suffice. Thanks so much!

Remove the screws from the wheel liners, unbolt from underneath and carefully pop out the clips along the door sills. In the middle of the running board there is an electrical connector for the courtesy lights. 30 minutes or less and fully reversible.

Rocker panels have a specific part number for colors - which of course are land cruiser colors.

You’re amazing TB! Thank you.

I was trying to figure out why the LX didn’t look as masculine as the LC and it just dawned on me that these huge side steps are probably a big reason.

Now I need to find a few more full photos of how it looks when removed! Do the AHC components look like a massive eyesore?

You’ll definitely be able to see them, especially the bars that protect the accumulators. I went straight to Slee sliders so can’t say for sure how big of an eyesore it might be.

What's interesting is that in many parts of the world, some LC trims come with the integrated steps. Whether integrated or not, I would recommend keeping some form of a step. The components underneath do stick out like a sore thumb without it. And steps are greatly functional, especially when lifted. I took @tbisaacs lead to trim my steps and installed Slee sliders.

Is there a part number for these (OEM LC steps)? Would they bolt on? That might do the trick while giving me a sleeker look. I only off road in the sand so I don’t really need the protection (and weight) sliders offer

Not a bad idea and it may just work. The LX integrated steps are bolted to the body. Those brackets get removed when cutting the LX steps. There's a good chance the LC steps may bolt over the cut sills just fine. You'll be giving up the integrated step lights which will need some sorting if you intend to keep lights.

Unless OP finds some TLC takeoffs - retrofitting will be expensive.

Rockers alone in USD are $600 and that’s assuming he’s happy with the two colors of black.

@HGB just get some sliders my man. If making your LX look more masculine, that will fix it. They are like instant biceps for your truck 🤣

Look how much room for activities underneath:

I sold my rig but still have the LC rockers, black and mint condition. In Salt Lake City if anyone’s interested.

I may be in minority but i hate the sideview of a “naked” LC and especially LX. Looks bad seeing all those things hanging underneath. I rather have the running boards than naked. Sliders are the best option Though.
