Hey all!

After my old daily's head gasket blew up, I needed something to take me to and from college, and recently I found this 2000 LC with 330k miles on it for just under 6k, it's been a California car its entire life so it's pretty much rust-free underneath, but the paint has faded in some spots and the dashboard has cracks in it.

I've been dailying it for a couple of days now and have noticed a few things that it needs, serpentine belt, rear wheel bearing, and it does have an exhaust tick on the driver side that doesn't seem to go away after the car has warmed up, I will be checking the spark plugs soon just to make sure they aren't coming loose.

I grew up with a 100 series as our family car, my dad used to have a '04 diesel 100 that racked up like 800k miles by the time we had to retire it due to the rarity of parts, I'll post some pictures of it if I find them.

welcome ! we'd love to learn more about what its like owning an OEM Diesel 100 Series, that is my absolute dream truck.

Sounds like you got a good deal on it, especially for anything from SoCal.

Found a couple of pictures of my dad's old cruiser, this was after it sat for a couple of years, due to the rarity of parts, even the Toyota dealerships couldn't get them.

From my knowledge, it was a 2004 diesel land cruiser grey market import from Japan, with a "Lexus" package on it, they bought the cars in Japan/UAE, dismantled them, and brought them over as spare parts, then put them pack together near port and sold them as complete cars. We got ours in Dec 2006 with like 10k miles on it, It had a mishmash of Lexus and LC parts on it, it had the 1HD-FTE, Wheels from LC, the interior from a newer LX, AHC, Aux Fuel Tank, dual batteries and the JDM fender mirror, front lip..etc...

Reactions: tip
800k is a lot of miles.... but if a JDM vehicle, the cluster would be in kilometers. So probably not actual mileage.
