Howdy. I've had a 100 series LX470 for six years and recently snagged a 200 series 2009 Land Cruiser. The vehicle is stock, with KDSS. I ordered the oem front leveling kit and an ironman front bumper. No other weight will be added. At some point I'll likely go with Dobinson IMS or MRR suspension but for now I'd like to save some coin and enjoy the stock suspension.

What I'm wondering, is with the added 200lbs or so from a front bumper, what's the best way to compensate with stock suspension without spending $$? Can torsion bars be adjusted a bit to compensate? Something else? Or with that heavy bumper do I already need to invest in aftermarket suspension?

Former LX attached, and new to me 200. Thanks for the help in advance!

Great looking 100 and new 200.

The oem trim spacer will help, plenty of guys run stock suspension with a bumper. I agree and would want upgraded suspension fairly soon after if it were me..

Are you adding a winch also or just bumper?

No torsion bars on the 200's like our 100's.

Another inexpensive option are spring rubbers. I’d recommend the green or black stiffness, black no winch, green with winch.

There are also a variety of stiffer springs available, which is the path I’d recommend. They aren’t that much and it’s the best way to deal with static mass like a bumper.

Thanks 😊. Defintely not doing winch unless / until suspension upgrade.

We need photos when you get everything wrapped up!!!

congrats on new 200.

dont you guys feel the trucks look weird with aftermarket front and stock rear bumper?

LOL, no, it looks like people who actually offroad or hit animals. Its certainly not a city boy look.

Personally I think both bumpers make the truck look better. Mix and match doesn't look right to me. Then again, most people with bumpers are too busy sipping $8 lattes
