Recently acquired an 03 Tundra limited 4x4. I bought this from Idaho (I'm in Fl.) knowing it wasn't running properly. It just got to me 2-days ago and finally was able to tinker with it today. I have tried searching but end up with a lot of 2nd gen Tundra items and not first gen and none of the issues are people with TRD Superchargers so just want to see if I am overlooking something.

So here's what I know and what I've tested.

4.7 V8 w/ TRD Supercharger - TRD Ecu
Magnaflow exhaust (terrible weld job)
288k
Revtek 2.5" front lift / 1" rear lift
Diff drop
Magnaflow muffler

NO CEL's!!!

Truck will start every time, idle up to ~2000rpm then drop to almost nothing and die.
4-5 times it has surged to 200-300 then jumped back up over 1000rpms then came down and died
1 time I gave it gas right when I started and it went up to 3000rpm, lasted about 5-7 secs (longest yet) then died. Couldn't replicate this one after 2-3 tries.

What I've done:

Cleaned MAF
Cleaned TB
Check Relays (EFI/C OPN/Fuel Pump)
Bypassed Fuel Pump Relay (on hi)
Bypassed Fuel Pump resistor
Brand new Red Top Optima battery
5 gallons of 93 octane (truck currently reading just below 1/4 tank)
checked oil - not low and looked decent
checked radiator cap - has fluid, looked normal

Any help is greatly appreciated and of course, a new thread isn't complete without pictures.

Did it sit not running for a long time ?

Check the fuel filter, just replace it. Sounds like fuel starvation.

Never had a SC'd 4.7 but would start there after confirming fuel pressure. Make sure you have good vacuum and no air restrictions. Next would be plugged cat and last false air, but that's unlikely without CEL.

I have no idea how long it sat before I purchased.

Fuel filter wise - I just checked under the truck and this HAD to have been recently replaced. Looks brand new where the bracket is clearly older as well as everything around it. (confirmed it was installed in the correct orientation)

For the fuel pressure, I bought a gauge before realizing there isn't a fitting to use without purchasing separately.

I will say, bypassing the fuel pump relay, I could hear "gushing" into the engine bay.

Currently, I am going to purchase the banjo fitting necessary to check fuel pressure unless someone has an easier way of verifying.

For checking vacuum, how do I go about testing this?

Will try to get a video posted to see if that helps the car gods.

Thank you,
