Hi everybody,

I'm new here so thought I would post to introduce myself. I'm from the US but live in Costa Rica and just purchased my first LC - a 1996 HZJ70 with 1HZ/H55F with only 100,000 kilometers (~62,000 miles) on the clock. Couldn't be happier...now the fun begins!

Here's a picture:

Nice, was it an import or sold new locally?

Hint,if you hit those faded indicator lens with some car polish ,they should come up like new ;)

It originally came from Panama, but they did sell them new here in Costa Rica (and still do) - folks around here like to import from Panama since they have better roads and cars are less expensive there, so they tend to be in better shape.

Thanks for the tip on the indicator lenses - I'll be sure to do that! Picture was from about 10 minutes after I picked it up, so hadn't yet had a chance to do anything to it.

Yeah, I was impressed with the low km - and based on the condition it seems to be accurate. It has been owned by a 65 year old gentleman from the US for the last 8 years and he only used it to go into town 5km away. I got a great deal on it (for Costa Rica) at $10,500 and couldn't be happier with it so far!

r083rt - thanks! I'm in Quepos, near Manuel Antonio on the Pacific coast - know the area?

Polishing compound will work on your tail lights but not on those front signal lights.
For the latter, use super fine sand paper the spray with clear acrylic.

I'd love to have one like that. How about more photos, including back and interior. West coast of CR is very nice. Farthest south I got was Tamarindo.
