I am picking up a bj60 this week and want to go ahead and replace the stock springs/shocks as I am sure they are a bit tired at this point. Any reccomendations for stock spring replacement manufacturers/distributors? Does anybody reccomend SOR? I want to keep the ride stock as this will be my daily driver, thanks for the advice!

search. been discussed several times in the last few weeks.

Alcan would be my top runner if it was me.

I got the SOR 1.5" to 2" lift springs[at least that's what I asked for/the shop told me they] installed in Oct 2004. Why the SOR and not ARB/OME? At the time the shop had had positive experience with the SOR's and I didn't know anything about the OME's. I was disappointed at first 'cause the SOR's drooped on the driver's side and I found out that the OME's come with separate springs for each side of vehicle(supposedly to prevent driver's side lean) and cost maybe slightly more. Since then I had someone switch the rear springs left to right, in order to see if my SOR's were defective and, no, the lean remained. However, to their credit, the SOR springs have not sagged much in almost 1.5 years, and returned the vehicle to maybe stock height plus 1" or so. Then I read reports here about OME springs w/ body lean, and other brands that sag severly and warp after six months, and I become pleased with what I have.

Thanks, glad to hear that you had a positive experience with SOR. They are overpriced on many things but they seem to have their place as a supplier. Anyone else care to add their two cents worth regarding springs? Thanks!

James

I have replaced my original springs with SOR HD springs for my 60 and replaced the body mounts with poly mounts (that lean was buggin me to) after 3 years so far it's still looken and ridden good (although the new seats helped with the stiffer suspension).
