Hi everyone. I just picked up my '06 LC this weekend. It is a Mexico spec that was brought state side by the PO. Very well maintained and in great shape. Pretty well stock except LS430 projector lights and a Pioneer double din stereo. Yup no NAV and no AHC. I've owned an '94 80 for the past 10 years and it has been a great truck, but it was time for some more power, heated seats, and safety features as our family has grown quite a bit. I'll miss the 80 but this thing is so much fun to drive!

My cruiser is our camping/skiing/mt biking rig and I have to say I can't wait to rally this thing up to Stevens Pass this winter! No more 40 MPH for me up the last pitch! It will stay fairly stock for now since the majority of its off road travel is fire road mountain bike shuttles. I have a set of Rock Warrior wheels that will get a set of 285 DuraTracs for it. I've always liked the look of the RW's and the stock rims with Mich LTX's are going on our Sequoia since the OEM tires are getting worn out.

So I have a few questions about the stock suspension heights.
I currently sit at:
18.5" F
21" R

It seems to me that the front is about 1" lower than should be based on what I've read but the numbers are a bit variable due to truck ages loads ect, so i believe a Torsion bar adjustment is in order. Now I've seen a few reference to maintaining a a bit of rake to keep the handling of the truck correct and I guess my real question is not how high should my truck be but how much rake should I maintain. I think at the current height the 285's may look a bit cramped up front so it will come up but say I get to 20" hub to fender where should I be in the back 21, 21.5, 22....... I may go with the AirLift bags due to my 4up Thule bike rack, or maybe slee spring spacers or a combo of the two.

Anyway thanks in advance for the input and looking forward to the next 10years of cruisers

I am in Seattle on a business trip. When I get home to Idaho on Thursday I can measure for you. Mine is stock and has airlift1000 bags. It handles and rides beautifully.

Thanks.

The head lights are awesome. (Especially coming from my 80)

Welcome! Are you in Seattle? Mine has been great for mountain bike fire road shuttles and mostly skiing (usually Crystal) which is the majority of mileage for my '03. Indeed, you will not need to do 40 on the last pitch to Stevens, but you can practically see the fuel being guzzled at 60+! Perhaps we need to get a PNW hundy summit/bike shuttle on the calendar.

Mine's in the shop at the moment getting new CV axles, but I can also measure the rake if it would help, or we can meet up and you can take a look, though mine came with an OME 1.5 lift.

Where did you find your rig?

That is awesome. Get the best of both worlds. The 5sp transmission and even I am assuming VVTi and can still upgrade head units. No doubt the 430 headlights are a massive improvement.

Congrats cap80. I remember when Jason first imported it. I would've purchased it from him had I not had so much time/$ invested in my '98.

As for rake, just crank your front T-bar up to 19.5-20" It's not the rake that is so important but rather the ride height. At 19.5-20", your stock UCA's should be able to maintain good caster and your cv boots won't complain so much (spew grease).

Mexico? Rare bird indeed...

@e9999 yup Mexico

@hoser thanks I was remembering 19.5 seemed right up front and 21 in the back. Yeah it is a nice truck. I'm really glad things fell into place.

Are there not the same import restrictions from Mexico as everywhere else? New to it all so perhaps its a silly question.

Anyway, congrats on the new rig.

My '06 LC was converted from AHC to standard OE suspension by the PO about 5k miles ago. The conversion was done at a reputable Toyota dealership. My numbers are 20.25" Front, 20.75" rear as a bone-stock truck.

@smug01 perfect thanks! Looks like I have some torsion bar cranking to do tonight

The LC100 sold in Mexico meets US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Not all vehicles in Mexico do, and so not all of them are importable.

They are awesome. Do it if you can.

Yeah in Seattle. Just had a shuttle day on 410. 2 laps on Suntop and one on Ranger Creek. Only thing is you can't beat my buddies 2009 tundra for shuttles 10bikes and guys no problem! The 100 is probably a better retrieval vehicle.

6 in the bed and 4 on the rack. Smooth as butter.
