Just wanted to say thanks to all for the good advice and information I was able to gather through this site. On Saturday I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a sweet silver 2002. Semi-built, with ARB front bumper, OME lift, Nitto Terras, and some decent kicks too. Was surprised to find that Toyota was offering me a full bumper to bumper 3 year warranty, which I broke down and bought. Mostly because the hundy I bought had a factory GPS, and 109k miles. $1500 for 4 years of piece of mind was cheap for me.

The truly cool thing about sites like this is the community perks. To explain, I was actually able to track down my hundys previous owner through this site. That person was willing to give me a lot of info that I couldn't really trust the dealer to give me about the care the LC got before.

So, i look forward to finding all kinds of cool ways to burn money on the mods end.

Rookie mistake, sorry here is a pic!

Congrats!
Looks great. Would you want to black out the rear bumper and trim? Would match the wheels and front bumper :)

Congrats and welcome to the club!!!

BTW, you may seriously want to check into that warranty. Most warranties are voided if the vehicle is no longer stock. Especially with things like larger tires which could put stress on parts. Warranty companies look for any reason they can to deny a claim. One glance at this truck and they will deny. The dealership may have knowingly sold you a worthless warranty. Even if this was stock, I'm not sure how good warranties are on 12 year old vehicles over 100k.

Give this warranty a hard look. If it's not a Toyota CPO (which I'm sure it's not), talk to the manager at the dealership and return it. Tell him the salesperson knowingly sold you a worthless piece of paper because of the mods, mileage and age of the truck!

You are better off putting this $1500 aside in case of an emergency for 3 years. I'd bet you'll still have that money in an account for you 3 years later, you've bought a reliable truck!!

One other thing. look in to see if the Timing belt and water pump where done. It's well overdue if it hasn't been done. Thats easily a $1500+ maintenance.

Perhaps the dealership will do this service instead of giving you the warranty.

Definitely made sure the timing belt and water pump was done, which was confirmed by PO on Ih8mud and he is sending me the service records, it was done at 103k. Thanks for the heads up, however it is a Toyota warranty. My brother is the GM of the Toyota dealership that I bought it from. He has ensured me that all stock parts will be covered regardless of the lift or tires. If an aftermarket item were to break, the warranty would not cover it. But if say the CV joint wears out, it would be covered. Unreal that Toyota would warranty a car with over 100k on it, testament to the landcruisers value. I have owned many toyota 4x4s lifted all of em, and never had a hassle about warranty work. 3rd party warranty I wouldn't waste my money on though. My brother hardly ever sells LCs at his small dealership and was shocked when there was a Toyota warranty offered for it. Good lookin out though

Great job, as I stated before I gotta get my next LC from your brother!

Looks like you got a great rig, enjoy.

Congrats on the purchase!
