Gday fellow fourby fans, my name is Phil Lee, I own a 1989 HJ75 Troopy. I love my Troopy's, having owned two HJ47's, one that I through a 12HT into, what a beast it was. Anyway Im about to give my 75 series a new lease of life doing the work myself. I can go down the 12HT road again, but am seriously leaning towards the 1HDT-FTE. Would love some input from anyone who's done it.
On another note, has anyone dropped a Hino N04C motor into a cruiser?

I did the 12HT into my 85 ute. It was freshly rebuilt. It was a toss up between the 12HT and the HD-FT. The HD-FT would have required a cleanup or a rebuild having sat for so long. If you have the skills I would go the HD route, you know parts support will be around longer than for the 12HT, and the HD is a nice running engine. That being said, I think there are at least 2 guys on mud that are working on installing a HD-FTE in projects so maybe they will chime in
