Just wanted to say hello. I have been a member on a couple other truck forums and through my middle aged life have never been without a Toyota LC or Tacoma. There are a couple of longtime members here I know and have wheeled and am looking forward to hanging out a bit.
Now that the kids are all grown and on their own the wife and I have decided to spend as much time traveling and overlanding.

I currently drive a 2015 Tacoma Supercharged with BullyDog Tuner, Toytec BOSS Coil Over Front Suspension, Bilstein 5160 Rear Shocks, Toytec 10 Leaf Pack, Stainless Extended Brake Lines, Light Racing UCA's, CBI Reverse Adjustable Shackle Mounts, CBI Ubolt Flip Kit, Timbren Bump Stops, CBI Bushmaster 2.0 Front Bumper w/ Warn M8000S Winch and SR2 Rigid Flood Lights, CBI Bushmaster 2.0 Rear Swingout Bumper, Rigid SR2 backup lights and Dual RotopaX Mounts w/ Fuel and First Aid Pack, CBI Rock Sliders, CBI Full Skids and CBI Rear Diff Armor, CBI Custom Aluminum Bed Rack, BAMF LCA Skids, Front Runner Outfitters Slimline II Roof Rack w/ Rigid SR2 40" Combo Light Bar, Wurton LED Pod Rock Lights in fenders, Rigid pods mounted in Bed Rack, Intelligent Battery System w/ Dual NorthStar batteries, Spod Power Distribution, Illuminated switch panel in sunglasses holder, Viar Extreme Duty On-Board Air w/ 2.5 Gallon Tank under bed, Air to Air Sys, MagnaflowlExhaust, Safari Snorkel, Fuel Off Road Trophy Wheels, 285/75/17 Toyo MT/AT, Tint, FX-R BHLM Demon Eye headlights.

Welcome!

That is a awesome rig you have! Me and my wife's taco is slowing getting built for Overlanding (See Red Devil thread). Our ultimate goal is to drive to Alaska in the next 4 years and do Overlanding stuff along the way.

As you've seen the community at MUD is great but it'a a little lacking in the newer model Taco world... But that's the reason I've stayed on this forum and started a build thread. I'm hoping that more quality members will come and we can leave the young wipper snappers over at Tacoworld.

Thank you 84yota. I understand that the site may be a little light on newer Toyota's but, you hit the nail on the head in your post. There are a few great owners there but, sometimes it's tough to weed through. I will say that he overlanding thread has some pretty good folks and good ideas. I certainly spend very little time there now and I know of a couple of solid guys that are here that have the same opinion.
Good for you guys getting the trucks ready. It took us a couple years to get this one just the way we want it. Although, it is never ending, you don't need to break the bank doing it. Getting out is the most important part.
Today we took a day trip to check out the snow and runoff situation for upcoming trips. You can see, we still have a ton of snow melt to deal with.

That's a gorgeous area you have around you! I wish we got more snow down here.

We're here in the Southeast. We have a lot of cool terrain and beautiful areas but we're getting to the point we've explored most of it. We do a fair amount of backpacking and camping. We try to get out at least once a month and get away from it all and experience the 'Real World'. It just helps us both cope with life so much better.

We did a 2500 mile loop out to New Mexico and back just after Christmas and it was awesome! We had such a great time and it helped us figure out a bunch of little logistical issues for Overlanding. We're aiming to get our truck in same type status as yours but you're right that it takes time. It takes time and trial and error and not always as much money as what a lot of guys spend.
