After lurking for the last few months I broke the ice by jumping the gun with a tech question so I thought I'd better introduce myself. I picked up a silver '99 Hundy with rear locker and 123,000 miles several weeks back and have been digging it hard. I've never been much into cars in my 49 years but that's changing quickly. Absolutely love this vehicle. Mods so far include an upgraded stereo system, Spector canvas seat covers, a Speski cargo barrier, Die Hard battery, Ironman lift and Slee slider steps. Slee bumpers and winch to be added soon. I'm currently on my first roadtrip with her from my home in Austin up to Taos and on to Colorado with some mild off roading along the way. I'd be amiss if I didn't acknowledge the wealth of info available here. I've had many questions answered before asking by searching the archives and for that I owe big thanks. Cheers!

Welcome from another new Land Cruiser owner. I'm on my way to 100's in the Hills in Ouray Colorado this week. You should mark it on your calendar for next year.

I am planning to go to HIH 2015 with mine. Wife is already "kind of" on board :)
1900 miles with 3 kids and a nagging wife, hopes to be the one of the best times of my life;)

BTW nice LC OP, can't wait to get started on my modding

Well, coincidentally, I'm headed to Ouray in about a half an hour. The 100's in the Hills sounds like a great event. Definitely will consider it next year. I'm working out some over lifted cv issues as I'm travelling so doubt I'll end up doing much more than mild dirt for the rest of the trip. Learning as I go.

I'm learning as I go also. I'm running with my AHC locked in High mode we will see how it does...:meh: wish me luck.

Welcome and thanks for the reminder about the Speski cargo barriers in the 100. I need to figure out if one of those will fit lower in the cargo area and essentially replace the rear seat backs as a cargo barrier. I don't need a barrier up high, but I need one down low since I'm planning to remove the rear (middle) seats to accommodate my dogs better. It wouldn't be safe to travel with no cargo barrier, so I need a seat-back replacement and I think the Speski might be modifiable to work.

Haha would be great to afford both lol. Daughter who is autistic loves to travel and see new things and my 2 boys love trips no matter what. Wife just needs her hotel and nice dinners and a tv for night to watch while doing crochet haha:)

We all did Disney world a few years back anyways ;)
