I replaced the little motor inside my driver's door lock actuator. Prior to replacing this, the key fob would unlock/lock all doors, except driver's, without issue. Now the fob doesn't lock any. And when I press unlock it sounds the alarm. Any ideas what I may have messed up while I was in the driver's door? The lock does work now though with using the power switch on the door. I'm guessing it's something with that yellow sensor or whatever that is on the inside side of the the exterior handle/key lock, but feel like all I did was unsnap that and snap it back on reassembly. Thanks!

Hey Beaver, experiencing similar issues (though I haven't replaced anything yet). Did you figure out what was causing this? My alarm also goes off when I hit the unlock button on the fob. It just started happening recently.

Have you looked through the big door lock actuator thread?? I am experiencing similar issues to you guys, but have also found that one of the other locks seems to be getting weak (passenger front) so I am thinking that maybe when replacing one, it is a good idea to just replace all of them.

I've looked at some of that thread but not all. Will likely set some time to read the whole thing. I'm skeptical that it is the actuator motors alone, as even when all of the doors are fully locked, the ECU is still receiving a lock signal (sometimes rapidly locking over and over). I'm going to try to get into the rear hatch today and see if I can identify something that looks like a lock sensor.

I did order the actuator motors and plan on replacing those, but I'm trying to get a bandaid on this ASAP as it is making my vehicle a liability to drive due to the possibility of locking myself out (and I'm disconnecting the battery to prevent battery drain).

Yeah I get you. The lock sensors are a ring the goes around the backside of the lock cylinder itself. I purchased the two front doors as backup just in case one of my lock sensors is jacked up for whatever reason. Plus I didn't want them to be some sort of Unobtanium part when I need them.

I see. Thanks for your help. Are you saying you bought a complete lock assembly for the front doors? I've been wondering if it's worth it to find a complete assembly or not.

No... the lock sensors are something you can purchase separately and that is what I purchased. Since the lock cylinders are mechanical, worst case scenario you can remove and take to a locksmith to have it rebuilt if there is an issue. The sensors however, are an electrical item and once worn out or damaged should likely be replaced.

For me, I believe that there was a mechanical issue with the passenger front lock as it was stuck and could not UNLOCK with the key when I purchased the truck. After some cleaning with lock cleaner I was able to get it to function properly but still had issues with the alarm being set off when I would attempt to unlock the system with the fob or key regardless of the door. So I am chasing the electrical gremlins associated with that. First step will be replacing all the MAJOR door lock motors to ensure that they are showing as properly unlocked and locked when the system is seeing as such (so drivers door, front passenger and rear lift gate). After that, if the system is still causing issues, will be going the next step deeper to see if the door locks need to be rebuilt and/or replaced or if the sensors have given up the ghost and thus causing the system to set off.

So replaced my passenger side lock motor the other night hoping that was my issue. Even removed the exterior door handle and cleaned the sensor and the lock cylinder... Still no dice.
Since I have multiple motors, I will replace the rear gate motor to see what is going on. After that if it still is happening then I will go about replacing door lock sensors.
