Has anyone bought and tried out the new propane powered ice fishing power augar made by Jiffy? If so, what are your pros and cons?
 
Never seen a propane auger, but I have seen a propane weedeater! made me kinda go:hmm:

Yes, me too!! It looks pretty cool. No more mixing, and no more gas fumes.
 
Well this drilling ice MUST be an Acquired sport.

Mine comes out of my fridge door.

One major item about propane that in - Minus temps , Propane in the can is a liquid and when it boils off as a gas to be burnt , the can freezes. So if it is freezing outside already the propane gas might not boil off enough to have enough fuel to run the engine. till warmed ..

Way up in the country of a woman behind every tree, the propane was piped in as a liquid into a Evap / boil room (heated area away from house / shops) and it was there that the fuel was turned into a gas, then in insulated fuel pipes the gas was now piped to the second stage regs.
Im talking -40c areas .

So that is one thing to keep in mind.
