Hey everyone! My name's Erek. I'm from Chicopee, Massachusetts and I just recently bought an 86 HJ60 for a daily driver.
The rig has quite the history. It started out in Canada, was bought by a young couple in Alaska who fitted it with all sorts of of road equipment and then set out of an expedition from Anchorage south to Tierra del Fuego (the southern tip of South America) and then had it shipped back to AK. This was all done in the late summer months of 2002.
Then it was sold to the previous owner before me in September of 2003 while he was stationed at Eielson AFB in Anchorage. He was then transferred to a local base a couple towns away from me this past year and now with his transfer to Tuscon, AZ, he didn't want to take it with him. That's how I came by it.
Now it needs a little body work but mechanically it's more sound than my Wagoneer with a third of the mileage AND a rebuild! I'll post up some pictures as soon as I dig out my digital camera! Thanks for having me guys! I'll definately be posting up threads with issues that come along
I actually have one now - but I'll make a new thread for that.
