Seeing that two is always better than one, I got my wife a 2005 LX470, so the 1998 LC is completely mine now. Wow is all I can say when comparing my old work horse with the newer LX--it drives like a car! No real glamor shots yet, but you get an idea. Our carbon footprint just grew tremendously...

new set of Michelin Latitudes...don't know much about them, but they are SUPER quiet and it rides like a dream.

Looks to be in really nice condition - what's the story behind finding it? Private sale?

Found it on CL in Raleigh, NC. The seller wanted a car with "newer technology" and the dealerships were not giving him enough in trade for it, so he threw it on CL with no pics, mileage or info (i.e. color, interior). The listing was month old, but I shot him a text anyway and it was still available.

The car had 3 previous owners, and was originally sold in Palm Beach, and then traded and ended up in Charlotte, was traded again, and ended up in Durham. The whole time the LX was Lexus Certified, and every oil change, maintenance, car wash, you name it, was in the Lexus database...19 pages in all! The history showed nothing major, other the small hiccups you would expect from a 9 year old truck.

There are 98K miles on it, and at 90k the seller put about $3k into the 90K mile service, new timing belt, water pump, and a fresh set of tires. The exterior/paint is extremely clean with three small door dings that are barely noticeable, and faint scratches here and there. The interior is in excellent condition, with minor wear to the driver seat, and the speaker cover needs replacing. The wheels are mint.

Overall, I was really excited to find such a great example with all of the records.

Sounds like a great find! Having full Lexus service is a bonus! My LC has a torn speaker cover too. Not sure if we can simply buy OEM replacement covers?

I am pretty sure I am going to have to get a car audio place match the fabric...we will see.
