my neighbor is a great woman but doesn't really know much about cars or her owners manual...is there a switch or setting that remove the operability of the electronic side doors opening and closing???

On the passenger side front kick panel there is a fuse box remove the fuse that is for the power sliding doors for a minute or so that might reset them........... If that doesnt do it move them manually a couple times open to close that might do the trick........

Honda electric doors are designed poorly. In the manual mode, the motor never disconnects from the door, so you're forced to drag the motor (RE: Heavy) when opening and closing the door manually.

As the van ages, the body frame sages and the sliding door starts to stick, making the electric motor stop working. It's probably a safety feature that stops it from pinching the kid that gets in its way.

Ody gulps wind.

What year Odyssey? The doors were some trouble until late 03-04. Now they work great. There are many bulletins on them. With more info I can try to help.

She figured it out...Apparently some switch was overriding the power operation of the doors. That what i told it sounded like when sje first asked....after searching for a full 10 senconds I couldn't find the switch ...but she figured it out later...thanks for the info!!
