i removed the heater core out of my LX450 and i wanted to make sure i knew what it looked like before i ordered a replacement. well, now that its out..ii cannot find one that matches. all the ones on line dont have any lines coming off the heater core and im not sure why. has anyone bought aftermarket heater cores and did they come with lines? or do they come separate? i dont want to buy an incorrect part and it seems they are discontinued from toyota/lexus. thanks for the help and info!

Later heater core will work but you will need to get the hard lines as well and mate.

That’s the work around.

I got what you pictured up there ^^ from Onur. I took my old one and the new one to a radiator shop and had them add the hard lines from the old onto the new one.

@BlueCruiser84 what picture do you refer in your reply ^^?

Did you take pictures of the replacement work?

You know what? I lied. Mine was out of a 94 and is pictured in this link >> Heater core inlet/oulet pipes question.

Looks like the one you posted in the link a couple posts above is from a later model cruiser. I still had to go to a radiator shop to get that extension hose and clip replaced.

@BlueCruiser84 thank you for the link and the pics you posted there

So what parts did you use to fix your liking HC pipes??

Did you get used old style LC HC as a donor? Where did you get the replacement pipes ?

I bought a new heater core for a '94 from Beno. The '94 heater core is different, apparently, from the newer (95+ ?) heater cores. On the '94 the long pipe with a couple bends in it has two pieces. I broke my old heater core right where the pipe goes into the main body. When I got the new core it had two short pipes coming off of it.

Look at this picture. The core I bought from Beno for a '94 had the two pipes coming off the top tank. Left single pipe with a zig-zag and the right elbow. The new core did NOT come with the pipe indicated by the arrow.

The arrow points to the pipe I had to reuse. I took the old core and the new core to an old school radiator shop. He dug around in his parts bin and found an o-ring. He removed the old pipe (with the arrow) put a new o-ring on and snapped the clip back over the joint. Then he pressure tested it. Its been fine for two years.

Thank you for your patience and very good explanation

You didn't get the extension pipe (the pipe indicated by the arrow) from beno because it is not part of the HC it has a part# 87248-60430
