Picked up a GX470 last November. 2007, Blue, non-KDSS, Nav. 104,000. Frame good, not great.
Wanted a camping vehicle / daily. The 4Runners available in the area (SW Ohio) had crappy frames.
I pulled some excellent info from the site during my search - Thanks all who contributed !
Vehicle needed some maint before build started: Driver front half axle, front brake calipers (frozen lower piston), front brake pads, wheel balance and alignment.
Now that's out of the way, I started on the sleeping platform.
Just using plastic containers instead of drawers for now. We'll see how camping demands evolve. Maybe drawers will be added, maybe not.
Platform is two-piece, so I can use the middle row if needed. Mostly, the seats stay out.
A full-size folding mattress arrived yesterday. Looking forward to some spring camping.
Next in line is trimming the side running boards, Bilstein 5100's, and 255/75-17 tires. Just looking for a mild overlanding build.
Thanks again for the great ideas previously posted.
First camping trip below - Stonelick State Park.
