Hi , I have posted this on 80scool, Havent had any respnoce, I just thought you would also be able to help out,
I have been searching to find the link or info on removing the TB and cleaning it out.

Hi all
Ive been trying to clean up and fix a few issues on the 94 FZJ80,
First off after I got back from a trip last week there was a minor
low idle problem, usually ran about 400 RPM's for a bit then ran
great, But I havent driven it for 3 day's and now I cant get it to
idle any higher than 150-200 RPM, I was going to clean the throtle
body, or what ever its called, I have looked at the tube from the AF
to the FI and seems to be in good shape, I was going to clean and
inspect it later along with said above, I will look at the vacc.
hoses also, I did hear a slight hiss fron the brake booster hose on
the intake, I have seen a link for cleaning the inside after pulling
the TB off, I would like to see it again, I dont remember where I
saw it last, I remember it had a few pic's also.
Second the last time I drove it the CDL light was out, I pushed the
button to see if it would come on when pushed and now the DCL wont
turn off, I know its still on by the way it feels when I turned in
the drive way, Ive even pulled the fuse to see if this might help,
backed up, Put into low, But it didnt help.
Third I tried to use a jumper on the diagnosis box under the hood
to see if it would tell me anything, It wouldnt work either, I had
it up to temp, on not started, in Neutral or Park I didnt see the
check engine light flash, I will retry with a different jumper later
but any idea's would be great.
In the last 1500 miles I have replaced... Air filter, plugs, wires,
cap, rotor, PCV Ive had replaced... radiator, 1-O2 sensor, oil, oil
filter.
Thanks for any help.

CDL sounds like it's sticking--possibly from lack of use. Don't know what the fix is for that and would have to defer to those more knowledgeable about that sort of thing. But I would try not to drive it around on solid surfaces with the CDL engaged, or you'll be making more troubles for yourself (and a few dogs very happy).

I'm also not that familiar with the pre-OBDII systems, so don't know the precise method of invoking the diagnostic gods within. If you have a FSM, it should tell you what to do. Or try the search :D

Oh...and lack of pics may be due to the migration of the forum to the new software. Woody is working on it and things should be back to normal soon with any luck.

I'm not sure if the TB removal procedure is the same for the 94 as the 97 (I think it probably is), but I just did this a few weekends ago, and it's not bad at all... couple of hours the first time through, 20 minutes the second time. If you're going to do stuff like this though, you need to get an FSM. The procedures and helpful suggestions given on this site, are generally supplemental to the FSM, in otherwords.. you're not typically going to get everything you need here. The FSM has pictures/figures and identifies the peices and parts so you know what you're looking at.

Welcome and

Hi all.
Thanks for the info, I did the job in about 1.5 hours, It took alot of toothbrushing...The wife didnt want it back...Go figure! also took a bit to make sure I got ALL the hoses off, Blew out the small vacc. holes and such, Put it back together and it fired right up, idled about 1200RPS then settled down to about 800RPM Its even much smoother when the AC is on too.
Thanks again for all the help :)
Odd thing, I was getting off the front of the cruiser durring the job and I heard a springy ping sound, I turned on the Ign. and the CDL light was off, BFT!
I do need to get a Service manual, I have a Haynes but I know the Toyota one is much better.
Now I can get to work on the 40!, Im puting a NV4500 in it.

You can try a product made to clean up carbon deposite, eg; " SeaFoam". You'll want to change your spark plugs after using it though, as it washes out a LOT of carbon deposits, and they tend to foul plugs on worn motors.
