Hey, Just wanted to introduce myself...being a new FJC owner and all. I just bought an 08 Sandstorm a week and a half ago and love it!
I've been looking at them for a while now and got forced into buying another vehicle because my wife hit some black ice and rolled our 99 Wrangler. Its too bad she rolled it...but I am SOOOO glad we got the FJC. I have no regrets at all and am excited to get into the mods and accessories. Wish I would have found this forum before I bought it....could have saved some money on upgrades. Can't wait to get in on the dirt.

welcome Clint..... :)

post up some pics.....always good to have some online pre-modded ;)

Welcome aboard
You shouldn't have to worry about the black ice with the FJ
The VSC system is amazing, it works so good I usually shift into HL to shut it off
in the snow storms, so I can actually have some fun sliding around.

Here is a pic of it the other night....The rack is going to be installed on Wednesday. Then the lift, tires, and bumpers go on. I think I will go with an OME lift and probably some 33" or 35" BFG MT KM2's for the tires. I'm just so new to the FJC scene that I have to do a ton of searching around to figure out what options I have. This forum has been a huge help.

Woody, it doesn't appear as if he'll be un-modded for long.:steer:

Welcome to the forum and the FJ!

Another new owner (well almost)

Have just ordered a new FJ Trails Edition - now impatiently waiting. Caught the off-roading bug in the UK when I owned a short and fat Landie Defender with huge tires, winch etc. Still have my HiLift jack. Now with this FJ, I will start over. Very excited. Now, living in rural Canada, I off-road just to get home from work!! Needed snow chains to get up the drive last week.
Can someone give me a brief explanation on tire upgrades and why? Bear in mind I do a lot of road miles too. The Trails comes with 16in. BFG ATs, which I also have on my Tacoma. I have ripped two new ones clean through with small rock chips (tread not sidewall), rendering them useless (or can they be repaired - my dealer says NO:hhmm:)?? Many thanks folks. I will post photos when it arrives.

try the cooper sst or the mickey thompson mtz real good in mud snow rocks and not bad on pavement. deep enough tread to handle a lot of nicks and cuts.

Welcome to the FJC sickness, oh and MUD .. :flipoff2:

Just wanted you not to be left out ...

Cheers ,,,
