Looking to replace 99 front diff with ARB, but I have a few questions:
  • Where is the best place to buy from
  • What price can I expect to pay
  • Most importantly….what other parts do I need to buy, can I hook it up to my stock actuating system?
  • How is its everyday driveability as compared to a stock 4-pin

If you have a current actuating system (front diff lock actuator) I would leave it alone until it blows up, unless there is something wrong with it now. If you need to replace it, the existing wiring will be too much hassle to use as it involves actuator feed and reversal and also feedback via a position sensor to the ECU, so seperate wiring to an air solenoid would be easiest, possibly utilising the factory switch but bypassing factory wiring and feedback sensors. My thoughts.

Thanks for the reply. While running the ARB unlocked is it the same as the full time 4wd our vehicles have now, or is it completely disengaged? In other words, with the ARB diff will I still have full time 4wd around town?

The ARB only adds the ability to lock both axles together. Otherwise the system, when the ARB is 'unlocked', operates as stock (4wd).
