Hey all,

Just got my 1997 home to Concord from Florida yesterday. I have always been an older BMW guy (I am keeping my e30) but after 10 years with nothing but small cars, I decided to take the plunge on one of these.

Its got lockers, great paint, no rust, and all stock. Need some work - the ABS pump need to be replaced, needs brake pads, needs a darn good detailing / shampooing, and some other maintenance items but I picked it up and drove 700+ miles home with no real trouble.

Here it is -

Sweet. Welcome and the e30 is so sweet. Does it have an s50 engine?

Congrats and welcome to the insanity. The club has a monthly Cruisers Anonymous meeting in your neck of the woods. I'm sure someone will chime in about when that's scheduled.

Nice find. Must have been a good deal to travel that far. Glad the trip home was uneventful. Look forward to meeting you and seeing you at the next Charlotte Area meeting. I suspect JohnVee or I will organize one pretty soon.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Land Cruisers. Like any other vehicle of pleasure, it is an addiction that is hard to shake once you have the bug. Planning on taking it off road?

Welcome..... us chalotte guys will be at the cars and coffee first saturday of November.... we also do impromptu meetings at bars for lunch or dinner.

As for the ABS pump, not sure what that looks like since mine didn't come with abs but I do still have some abs parts from one that I parted out.

Shoot me a pic and i'll let you know if I have it.

Thanks all -

I do plan on doing some off roading, but nothing I couldn't bring the kids on with me.

Ive had several e30's, one I spent almost 2 years taking down to the frame and turning into a track car...It was fantastic :) Sold it to buy our house though...It had the big engine, fully adjustable ground control suspension (and I do mean fully), big brakes, etc etc....Weighed in at under 2200 lbs wet. My current is a 1991 318is with the M42, only 128k original miles. No sunroof (rare). All I've done with it has been to improve reliability and fun. New cooling system, electric fan, H&R OE Sports (only a 1" drop, same stiffness as the regular sports) new struts, new bushings...It looks like a rat but its all new where it counts.

The FJ need a darn good detailing. I want to replace the rubber seals around the body trim and refresh it completely...

The ABS pump/module is right behind the battery, has a bunch of hard pipes coming out of it..If you have one, I'd love to take it off your hands! I can post a picture on Tuesday when I get it back from the AC shop.

sure shoot me a pic.

We rarely do club sponsored trips that aren't super kid friendly.

We try for one trip to a hard park like harlan or windrock a year.

Most of the time its uwharrie, the beach or light trails like hurricane creek.

Beware of this quote, because I've taken mine on just about every wheeling trip since getting my 80...
Welcome to the madness!
