I've got my new 4 pinion carrier assembly for my front differential coming in tomorrow. I gotta get this back on the road or my wife's gonna kill me...again!

Anyone have any good hints for replacing this, or does someone have a few pages of the Service Manual they could post or email?

I'm sure I can wing it, but any help would be appreciated!

You, at minimum, will need a steering knuckle puller; circlip pliers; and an impact wrench helps with the rear diff to frame mount assembly. If you PM me your e-mail address I will scan the appropriate FSM pages tomorrow when I get to my 11x17 scanner.

AWESOME. Got the pages from the FSM (Thanks, spressomon!)...Got my new carrier in. I'll be digging in tomorrow night after work.

Anything I should replace while I'm in there? cv joints, etc?

If the CV's are not leaking and you are not planning to lift then leave them be. Depending on when the PO had the bearings flushed and greased you should do this if needed. Be sure to get plenty of good grease on the needle bearing and bushing within the steering knuckle where the CV axle slides through.

OK. got steering knuckle and everything else removed. I am ready to remove the axles from the carrier, but I can't seem to get them to budge. I thought that they were supposed to "unsnap" from the carrier with some pressure and a few taps (nothing extreme).

HELP, please!

Raj
