New Baja Designs Forum Coordinator

Hey Everyone,

Bill over at Baja Designs. I am formally introducing myself as the correspondent to this forum from here on out. I will be here for any questions or concerns regarding Baja Designs. Feel free to email me or call about any inquiries about our products or concerns you may have about them. I can't wait to see all your guys build day in and day out. As a start to this relationship, let's see some of the builds you guys are working on today. Feel free to respond/post images of your Builds below. I can't wait to see them.

A little about myself, I've been with Baja Designs for a little over 2 years. I started out in the warehouse as a warehouse lead. I got the opportunity to jump into forum sales and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors and try to camp as much as I can. I'm currently building a 2003 GX470. My end goal with this build is to be able to live out of it on weekends and be able to explore as much as I can.

Nice to have Baja on the forum, I've only got the Squadron Sports so far, but I was able to install them in the Ironman fog light location actually by hacking up the Ironman fog lights and using their back/bracket as a bracket for the Bajas. I'm not a fabricator so making this as simple as possible as a bolt-on affair sure made life easier for me.

They're pretty awesome although I wouldn't mind upgrading to the Pros and using the Sports for like ditch light or something. I also wouldn't mind a pair of LP6's!

I also plan to purchase some S2's and put them in the DRL/turn signal location... any sales coming up soon :p

I've upgraded all of my lighting to BD. Squadron SAE in the bumper for fogs, LP9's for spot lights wired right into the factory high beams and Squadron Pros for ditch lights. All amber color just because I prefer it. In the rear I have S1's on the rack for chase / reverse lights on a switch, and the new S1 hitch light as a dedicated reverse light. I've run a ton of different light company's products and the BDs have been the highest quality product I've run.

Hey @aquilon,
I also had Squadron sports as my fog a while ago. I did the swap to the Squadron Pros and while doing a handful of trails at night I would recommend doing the switch for that extra light output. Whenever you are ready to place an order contact me at bill@bajadesings.com and I can set you up with a quote with a forum special.
Best,
Bill

Hey @prerunner221
Thank you for your continued support. The build looks rad, how do you like the Squadron SAEs as your primary fog lights?
Best,
Bill

The SAE Squadrons are perfect for that in-the-bumper location. I ran a set of squadron Pros in my old FJ bumper, and while the light output was amazing, I absolutely could not run them on the street. They were way too bright and would blind an oncoming driver potentially causing an accident. The SAE version gives me a ton of usable light, but has a sharp cut-off and doesn't blind anyone. I wired mine right into the factory harness so they come on with my headlights just like the factory lights. These are also the newest version of the SAE lights. I had the originals, which were good, but did the return / swap and these are better. More light and a much better cut-off.

@aquilon, I would personally run those Sports as ditch lights off a switch for wheeling and get a set of the SAE lights for the bumper. Aside from keeping the vehicle road legal, they put out great light without negatively impacting anyone in front of you. If you need to reach out on the trail, those LP6's you want, or the LP9s are outstanding.

Ah, thanks for the info. I'm also going to be doing a bi-led retrofit to my headlamps so I should have a good bit of forward lighting, but any set of LP's would be sick.
