New 40 project thread

Here are some pics to start my project thread. First is the '71 FJ40 arriving home in tow behind the 2007 FJCruiser (dark I know). Next a few pics in the garage. It has definitely been used but is virtually rust free (some surface rust), missing the engine, everything else is there but worn. As a bonus it did come with about 6 carbs, intake and exhaust manifolds, an F motor and 2F motor, and a few other misc. goodies. I haven't pulled the motors a part yet to see what kind of condition they are in. From the outside the 2f looks good and has most assessories still in tact. Should be fun. My wife has dubbed it "Project Mailtruck" for obvious reasons.

Right on Norm! I'm glad to hear your wife has given it such a postive name "Project Mail Truck." ......Just wait untill it has been in the garage for a year or so, and there will be much more colorful names for it!
The pic from the front looks just like my 40 did in 2002, when I started my rebuild. They sure change over the years!

Here is my project. A 1963 FJ40. Came from Show Low most of its life. Keep us posted on your project. Notice the Bezel marking.
